Impact of antiplatelet therapy and cardiopulmonary bypass on platelet function in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting using multiple electrode aggregometry

چکیده
Background Antiplatelet therapy (APT) is known to substantially reduce mortality and rate of ischaemic complications after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Rate of perioperative APT resistance varies widely and could be influenced by cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). The purpose of the study was perioperative assessment of platelet function with respect to administered APT and CPB, and determination of patients with APT resistance who could benefit from more aggresive treatment strategy.

Evaluation of Cognitive Complications Following General Anesthesia in Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Using Wisconsin Test
Background and Aim: One of the complications of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) surgery is cognitive function decline. Due to the importance and direct effects of cognitive function on the quality of human life, this study was designed to compare the executive function of young CPB patients with the age range of 30-55 years one year after undergoing the surgery with healthy subjects. Materials and...

Background : Quests for doing coronary artery bypass surgery by a technique with lower complications is going on, for this aim many studies compared patients undergoing CABG with or without cardiopulmonary bypass. This study was carried out to compare laboratory findings after coronary artery bypass in these two groups of patients. Materials and Methods: In a retrospective study, 167 patients ...

متن کاملThe Cardioprotective Effects of N acetylcysteine as an Additive to the Blood Cardioplegia During Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Introduction: During coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), the role of cardioplegic solution which results in cardiac arrest, is critical. This study was planned to evaluate the clinical impacts of N acetylcysteine (NAC) enriched cold-blood cardioplegia on early reperfusion injury in patients with ischaemic heart disease undergoing CABG Methods: In a...
متن کاملClopidogrel and bleeding in patients undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting.
OBJECTIVE In an effort to minimize transfusions in patients undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting operations after recent clopidogrel exposure, we studied laboratory tests predictive of platelet dysfunction and used a strict algorithm-driven treatment of bleeding. METHODS Forty-five patients receiving clopidogrel within 6 days of the operation and 45 control subjects were studie...
